Designing your Finale
While most people just try to shoot a bunch of stuff of at
once for their finale I try to put a little more thought into mine. You want
people to walk away at the end of your show, and go tell their friends all
about how great your show was. They will remember the other items in your
show, but the end has to be the biggest event.
What is your Vision
An easy area to begin planning your finale is to try to come up with an idea
of what effects and colors you want. If you don't have any idea of what you
want to do try to build your finale around a theme. Last years finale was
made up of a few 500 Gram Cakes and 24 Flashing Thunder Candles. If you want to know more about my last years finale feel free
to email me. This year I am going to build it around an American Theme. You
have to envision how all of these different pieces will look when they are
going off. With your finale you can combine all different type of items to
get a very full and well rounded finale.
Build Intensity and Numbers
For my finales I try to build the intensity. I do this but fusing all the
items that I picked out for my finale together so that all I have to do is
light one fuse. If you want to use shells, mines, rockets, roman candles as
part of your finale it is a good idea to look at our ideas for build mortar
racks, candle racks and rocket racks. I divide all of the items that I
picked out into sets or groups. For organization you can name the groups. I
go with group 1 being the smallest and depending on how many groups I have
the last one being the highest number. I build the intensity by lighting the
one fuse on group one. If you can imagine a pyramid with the top being where
I just lit I want the number of items that light to increase, as it reaches
the next set of items. When it reaches group 2 I want the number of items
that it lights to double. This will add more action in the sky.
Give Me An Example
This year we are going to do an American Pride type finale. The finale
is made up of 12 Red, White, Blue Candles (Black Cat), 6
RC-1 (Black Cat) Red Glitter,White Glitter, and Gold Glitter. American Pyro
(World Class) 156 shot cake. The finale is going to
start with the roman candles, add the large cakes and Thunder Sticks, with the Gold
Glitter Candles at the end. I will try to get a video of this finale to
upload on here. Then about a few seconds after that we are launching 18
shells simultaneously, 12 triples, 6 doubles and singles.
