How much should I spend on my finale?

When it comes to planning your show. I think the most important thing that should be thoroughly thought out should be the finale. There are so many factors that make up a good finale. The one thing that you want to make sure of though is when your finale is over you want your audience to know that was the finale.

You need to light more items in your finale at a time than you did have going off at any other point of your show. To make sure you can do this it is a good idea to put away at least 25% of the total amount that you spend on your show just for items for your finale. If you think you will run out of money when you go shopping for your fireworks buy the items for your finale first that way your are sure that you have enough item to leave your audience in ah. The 25% for you finale will work on any budget over $100.00

My typical finale cost is around $400.00 which is a nice size finale, and it normally goes on for like 7 mins. I try to theme my finales, with effects and colors. I start of with the fountains and candles, since the fountain are the longest burning item of the finale. I then move into smaller cake repeating items that I have pre-selected. I then move into larger 500 Gram cakes and shells that are preloaded into my mortar racks. By now everything is going off, and the action is unbelievable.

There are a few equipment pieces that every Pyrotechnician needs to put on a good finale, mortar racks, candle racks, cake racks (if you wish to angle a non-angled cake.). Also a few feet of different types of fuse also helps greatly to connect items together. Mortars racks a probably one of the most important equipment needs for a good finale most kits only give you one to four pipe in the kit. Well that is nice but not enough to really get excited, that is where these racks come into play. We have plans for ones that will launch up to 20 shells at one time if you fuse it right to get the audience adrenaline pumping. Or 40 shells if you piggy back them.
