When deciding how many people are going to be needed to light your show there are a few factors to determine this. The first determining factor is dependant on how much you spend on fireworks, this will greatly affect the number of items you have. Another factor to help you decide is how short or long you want your firework display to last. Another way to determine how many people you will need is how spread out your show is. If you have multiple firing areas you will need at least one person for each firing areas. The last factor for how many people you will need will be how intense and active you want your show to be. If you have a lot of stuff, with only yourself lighting the stuff get ready for a long show. With only you lighting items you won't be able to enjoy the show yourself since you will be constantly running around lighting items. Another benefit of having more than one person lighting the fireworks for your show is you can set up multiple firing areas. This is great for keeping your audience guessing where things will come from next. For this past years show I had 4 other guys besides myself
lighting the stuff I got. I spent about $1000.00 on my show total. With the
5 of us lighting the stuff we put on a 30 min show. That
might see a little short but look at the length of the average professional
show. The most important factor when shooting you display is keeping your
audiences attention. While one item at a time looks cool, try lighting
multiple items at the same time. You should try to keep your show from 30min to 1
hour in length.
With people lighting corresponding with amount of your show, you will be able to watch some of the fireworks instead of running around to light the next item. As I compare this past year to my first year there were many benefits of having more than one person lighting the items off. To see what I mean check out Planning advance shows with multiple lighters.
