What is available to me?

Are you new to fireworks, if so this area will inform you on the different types of consumer fireworks that are available to you. We have broken all consumer fireworks items into a few main groups. Within each group you will find out the height at which the item goes, price ranges, what some kits consist of, and a few of the different items in each.

Assortments - Assortments are a great way to build your show when you are first starting out or even if you are a veteran at this. Assortments prices can range from $19.95 to as high as $250.00. Most of the time these are great buys. A lot of people when shopping will pick out an assortment that suits their tastes, some are all aerial and some are all fountains for a nice ground display. There are a few assortments that are well rounded when it comes to both of these types of fireworks. After they find a assortment that suits their taste they will then start to add other pieces to put more weight on an group or groups of items. For more information check out Beginner Techniques for how to build a nice show.

Reloadable Mortars - Reloadable Mortars are becoming very popular. Different kits range in price from $3.50 to $249.95. Inside of one of these kit you will find the pipe(s) that are used to launch these shells. Pipes will come in two ways either HDPE or Cardboard, and will range in height from 12" to 18". Kits will also range in the number of shells that you get, from kits at small as 6 shells to kits that have as many as 80 shells. These kits will also contain anywhere from 1 to 8 mortars to launch all of your shells. The cost per shell remains relatively the same across the board for kits that have a Cardboard pipe and the ones with HDPE pipes. The only slight change in price per shells is when comparing kits with HDPE pipes and Cardboard. The HDPE pipe is well worth the few extra pennies per shot. Kits will also come with shells that have either 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 breaks to them. The diameter of shells that are available for consumers range from 1/2" to 1.75". You cannot purchase shells larger than 1.75" from your local firework dealer without the proper qualifications. These shells typically go from 60ft. to 150ft.

Mines - Mines are a relatively new item that is available to the consumer. These often rare kits to find, are very impressive. A mine is a directly opposite of a mortar shell. Instead of the shell coming out of the mortar and braking, the canister breaks inside of the pipe. The stars and then sent into the air all ready lit creating a geyser like effect.
