When shopping for repeaters (cakes) for your firework
display you will find that not all cakes shoot straight up. This article
will explain the different styles of angled cakes that are available to
consumers. To get a better idea of what the effects look like we will be
adding videos to this page shortly.

The "I" style cake is the oldest style of
cakes. This is your more traditional style, this cake causes the

| "W" Angled |
The "W" style cake is like the open "V"
style with shots fired in the center of the cake, leaving space
between the left and right sides of the "V" creating the "W".
This style cake can either shot one at a time in each of the
directions or groups depending on the size of the cake.

| "Z" Angled |
The "Z" angle style cake is a new effect
for the 2004 firework season. This style of angle cake shoots from
right-to-left and the left-to-right in a "Z" pattern. The picture to
the right is of American Rhythm the red pearls went from right-to-left
and now the white is going left-to-right, creating a "Z" effect.

| Combination
"I" & "V" or "W" |
| The "I" and "W" or "V" effect was new
around 2001-2002, it combined a "I effect with either the "V" or "W"
effect. The cake would fire a few shots in the "I" style then would
switch to say a "W" effect then back to a "I" effect.
The graphic to the right show what the shots would look like through
the duration of a typical cake. Generally the shots that are straight
up are shot one at a time and the "V" or "W" are in groups. |
