Rocket Rack (Large Size)

Tools needed:
Crop Saw or Table Saw
5/16" Drill Bit
Drill bit about the size of the rocket stick.

Materials:
12 -  1 5/8" Screws
4 - 3/4" Brass Brackets
2 - 1x4 18" Long
2 - 2x4 24" Long

Theory: While watching one rocket at a time is fun, it doesn't fit in a firework display. This rack will let you setup up to 20 rockets in a rack, you never have to worry about reloading a rocket, trying to get it into the pipe in the dark. All you have to do is load everything prior to your show, and light the rockets when you want.

Directions:

1. Cutting the pieces
The first step to building this rack is to mark and cut the pieces needed to create this rack out 2x4 and 1x4.

2. Drilling the holes for screws
You will need to drill 3 hole on each of the short ends 1/2" from the edge. 2 at 5/8" from the long edge and at 2.25" from the long edge. An easy way to do both end pieces quickly is to clamp them together.

3. Drill the holes for the rockets
a. Clamp the two 2x4 together. This will help make sure that your holes for the rockets line up properly.
b. Measure in 3/4" from the long side of the 2x4 on both sides creating 2 rows. Start at one end measure 1 3/4" from the end and then every 2 1/2" till you get to the other end of the board.
c. Drill the holes wide enough to accommodate the stick of the rocket you want the stick to be loose in the rack.

3. Attaching the end pieces
Take the screw and using a vice or other device to hold either the top or bottom screw in the screws for one of the sides, process to then to the other 2x4 side and finally attach the other  side.

7. Painting the Rack (optional)
To hide the rack from people during your display, you should paint the rack flat black. This isn't that important

8.Attaching Brass Brackets
On this rack we are going to secure the bracers on the long edge instead of the shorter edge. This can also be done like our other racks if you drill the hole on the end pieces so that when you attach the ends to the middle pieces you will also hold the bracket in place.

Variations: If you adjust the length of the 2x4 that will either increase or decrease the number or rockets your rack holds.
