Safety Tips For A Safe Time
- Make sure that you brace every items. This will prevent the items from
tipping over.
- Have the audience at least 50 ft. away from the firing area. This will
make sure that they are not in the fallout area,
- Have a fire extinguisher, bucket of water, or hose ready just in case a firework
lights something on fire.
- Always wait a few minutes before approaching an item that you lit but
did not go off.
- Have an adult present.
- Never experiment or make your own
fireworks.
- Use outdoors only.
- Buy from reliable sellers.
- If necessary, store fireworks in a cool,
dry place.
- Always read and follow label directions.
- Never give fireworks to small children.
- Dispose of fireworks properly by soaking
them in water and disposing of them in your trashcan.
- Never throw or point fireworks at other
people.
- The shooter should always wear eye
protection and never have any part of the body over the firework.
- Never carry fireworks in your pocket.
- Never shoot fireworks from metal or
glass containers.
- Stay away from illegal explosives. You
can tell that they are illegal if they don't have a warning label on them.
- Never re-light a “dud” firework (wait 15
– 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water).
